WELCOME TO KANSAI KARATE CLAYFIELD

We are a family-oriented martial arts dojo located in the north Brisbane suburb of Clayfield. We started our dojo in 1999 under Sensei David Bernard and are part of the Kansai Karate Academy dojos. Our lineage extends to Japan and to our head of style worldwide – Shukokai Karate-do.

Karate is our nature

Karate is a self-defence martial art that has been around for several hundred years. Taken from the two Japanese karate forms: Shitoryu and Naha-te.

Our style is Shukoukai karate and the head of style in Oceania with an 8th Dan black belt is Sensei Stephen Kelly. Sensei Kelly is the instructor of the two
